Cetearyl Alcohol

Cetearyl Alcohol

The word 'alcohol' can be misleading. Unlike harsh, drying alcohols like isopropyl alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol is a completely different kind of ingredient. It's a 'fatty' alcohol, a waxy solid derived from vegetable sources that is incredibly beneficial for skin. It acts as an emollient, leaving the skin feeling soft and conditioned.

In our workshop, we use it as a co-emulsifier and thickener. It works with our main emulsifying wax to create a stable, creamy lotion that won't separate. More importantly, it gives our final products a wonderfully smooth, velvety texture on the skin and a non-greasy finish. Itโ€™s a key player in creating a product that feels both elegant and effective.
