Licorice Root

Licorice root isn't just candy flavoring. This ancient medicinal root has been soothing throats and calming inflammation for over 4,000 years. We steep it in our Cold & Flu Immune Boost Tub Tea because when you're fighting off illness, you need ingredients that actually work, not just smell nice.

Harvested from the deep taproot of Glycyrrhiza glabra, licorice root contains glycyrrhizin, the compound responsible for both its distinctive sweetness and its therapeutic punch. This isn't the artificial black licorice flavor most people know. Real licorice root has a complex, woody sweetness with earthy undertones that blend beautifully with our other respiratory herbs.

When you soak in our tub tea, the licorice root releases its anti-inflammatory compounds through the warm water and steam. These work on multiple levels: reducing throat irritation, calming inflamed airways, and supporting your body's natural immune response. The saponins in the root create a gentle expectorant effect, helping to loosen congestion while you breathe in the herbal steam.

We pair licorice root with complementary herbs like eucalyptus, ginger, and white willow bark in our Cold & Flu blend. Together, they create a powerful botanical arsenal against seasonal discomfort. It's the kind of formula we've refined over 27 years of making products that do what they promise.
