Organic Borage Seed Oil

Borage Seed Oil isn't an everyday moisturizer; it's a targeted treatment. This is one of the most precious oils in our workshop, and we handle it with that level of respect. It has a distinct herbaceous scent and a deep golden color, signs of its minimal processing and high potency.

Its power comes from its incredibly high concentration of Gamma-Linolenic Acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid that the body uses to calm inflammation. Our specific oil is standardized to 20% GLA content. For skin that is red, angry, or irritated, borage oil can be profoundly soothing and help restore a sense of calm.

Because it's so potent, we use it as a specialty 'active' in our formulas, not as a bulk base oil. A small amount in a facial serum or a healing balm is all that's needed to lend its barrier-restoring properties to the entire product. It works to replenish lipids and strengthen compromised skin from the outside in.

We source our organic, cold-pressed borage oil from the UK. The cool climate is ideal for cultivating plants that yield a high-GLA oil. It’s a specialized ingredient that allows us to create truly effective, restorative products for skin that needs extra help.
