Holy Basil, or Tulsi, is not the same as the sweet basil in your kitchen. Its aroma is much more complex—warm, sweet, and herbaceous, with a distinct spicy, clove-like undertone. In India, it is revered as a sacred plant, grown in temples and homes for its ability to purify and protect the spirit.
