Spearmint is the gentler, sweeter cousin in the mint family. While Peppermint is an icy, powerful blast, Spearmint is a soft, sweet, refreshing breeze. Its aroma is less about the intense menthol and more about the bright, green, almost candy-like sweetness of the carvone it contains.
This gentleness makes it incredibly versatile. It's a fantastic choice for focus and clearing a foggy head, but without the sharp intensity of peppermint, making it suitable for more sensitive individuals. It provides a feeling of clean, refreshed clarity.
Its most traditional use is for soothing the stomach. The antispasmodic properties of the oil make it a wonderful remedy for feelings of nausea, indigestion, or motion sickness. A simple inhalation can bring a sense of calm and relief to an unsettled tummy.
