Sugar (Sucrose)

Sugar is one of nature's most effective and gentle physical exfoliants. In our body scrubs, the fine, uniform crystals provide the perfect amount of friction to slough away dull, dead skin cells, revealing the smoother, brighter skin underneath. Unlike salt, sugar is less abrasive and dissolves more easily, making it a gentler choice.
Beyond exfoliation, sugar is a natural humectant, which means it draws moisture from the environment into the skin. As you scrub, it helps to hydrate the new layer of skin you're revealing. In soapmaking, we add a little sugar to our recipes for a different reason: it acts as a lather booster, helping to create big, fluffy, and abundant bubbles.
