Handcrafted with Intention: Each piece of Em'z Blendz jewelry is made by hand in our Medford, Oregon studio. Because these are handcrafted and often made to order, please allow 1–3 weeks for creation. For Valentine's Day, we have pairs in stock and can prioritize orders to arrive in time.

Two metals. One heart. Every hammer mark intentional.

Sterling silver, shaped into a ring and textured by hand. A copper heart, warm against the cool silver, suspended at the center. These aren't hearts stamped out by a machine. Emily forms each one at her bench, hammer and torch, building texture strike by strike. The result is a pair of earrings that catches light differently than anything mass-produced ever could.

The copper will change over time. That's not a flaw. Emily designed these knowing the copper would develop a patina, deepening from bright penny to rich antiqued bronze. She actually prefers the aged look. But if you like yours shiny, a soft polishing cloth brings them right back.

"Silver is strength. Copper is warmth. Put them together and you get something that feels like what love actually is: two different things learning to complement each other. I hammer texture into the silver because I want you to see the work. I want you to know a person made this, not a factory."

— Emily Whitlock, Designer-Maker

The Artistry in the Details

  • Hand-hammered texture: Every strike of the hammer leaves its mark. No two pairs have identical texture patterns.
  • Sterling silver rings: Solid .925 sterling. Durable enough for everyday wear, beautiful enough for occasions that matter.
  • Copper heart accents: Warm-toned copper hearts add romantic contrast. They'll develop character as they age.
  • Lightweight and comfortable: Substantial enough to feel like real jewelry, light enough to wear all day.
  • Includes velvet pouch: Arrives ready for gifting or safe storage.

Key Elements

Sterling Silver
The rings are solid .925 sterling silver, hand-hammered for texture. Sterling is 92.5% pure silver alloyed with copper for strength. It's hypoallergenic for most people and develops a soft patina over time that many prefer to high polish.
Copper
The heart accents are pure copper, chosen for its warm tone against the cool silver. Copper naturally oxidizes, shifting from bright to antiqued bronze. This is Emily's preferred aesthetic, though polishing restores the original brightness if you want it.

Made by hand. Worn with heart. The kind of jewelry that means something.

Daily Wear: Put jewelry on last, after lotions, perfumes, and hairspray have dried. These can dull metals and cloud crystals over time.

Storage: Use the soft pouch we included. It prevents scratches and keeps pieces from tangling. If you're storing multiple pieces, keep them separate so chains don't knot and stones don't chip each other.

Cleaning: A soft, dry cloth is usually all you need. For brass and copper, a gentle polish restores shine. Avoid chemical cleaners on crystals.

Remove Before: Swimming, showering, hot tubs, dishes, and sleeping. Chlorine and salt water are hard on metals. Snagging a delicate wire in your sleep is harder on you.

Embrace the Patina: Brass and copper develop character over time. Some people love the warm, aged look. If you prefer bright and shiny, a polishing cloth brings it back.

Q: Will the copper turn my ears green?

A: The hearts hang from sterling silver hooks, so copper doesn't touch your skin directly. Sterling is hypoallergenic for most people. If you have metal sensitivities, sterling is generally a safe choice.

Q: How do I care for the copper patina?

A: If you love the antiqued look (Emily does), just wear them. The patina develops naturally and looks beautiful. If you prefer bright copper, a gentle polish with a soft cloth brings back the shine. Store in the included velvet pouch to slow oxidation.

Q: Can these arrive in time for Valentine's Day?

A: Yes. We have pairs in stock and can prioritize Valentine's orders. If you're ordering close to the date, reach out and we'll make sure they arrive in time.
