On full moon nights, the windowsill of our Medford studio holds a small, strange harvest: finished pairs of these earrings, laid out to spend the night under the light. It's the same idea as moon water, the old practice of leaving water out to catch the full moon, except nothing here needs to stay dry-cleaned of the poetry. Moonlight only. No water required.
The pearls themselves are 12mm Swarovski crystal pearls, and we'll tell you exactly what that means: a crystal core with a lustrous pearl coating, made by Swarovski, not pulled from an oyster. Emily chose them on purpose. They bring a smooth, creamy glow and a perfectly round, light-catching consistency that natural pearls at this size can't match without a very different price tag.
Each pearl is hand-wrapped in solid sterling silver and hung from a solid sterling ear wire. At 12 millimeters these read as statement earrings, real presence at the ear, but the design stays clean and simple so the pearl and its glow do all the talking.

Keep It Beautiful
Daily Wear: Put these on last, after lotion, perfume, and hairspray have fully dried. The pearl coating holds its luster best when it never meets the residue, and sterling tarnishes slower without it too.
Cleaning: Wipe the pearls with a soft, dry cloth after wearing to lift skin oils. When the sterling darkens, use a silver polishing cloth on the metal only and keep it off the pearl surface. No chemical dips, no ultrasonic cleaners, ever; the coating won't forgive them.
Storage: The velour pouch is their home between wears. Store them away from harder jewelry so nothing scratches the pearl surface, and away from open air to slow tarnish on the silver.
Remove Before: Swimming, showering, hot tubs, dishes, and sleeping. Chlorine, salt water, and friction are hard on both the coating and the sterling.
Recharging: When they feel like they've spent their light, set them somewhere safe and dry under the next full moon and collect them in the morning. Moonlight only. No water required.
