Get the Most From Your Candle
First Burn: Let it burn until the wax pools to the edges. About 2-3 hours. Skip this step and you'll get tunneling for the life of the candle.
Wick Trim: ¼" before every light. Trim while warm. Long wicks mean soot and weird burning.
Burn Time: 3-4 hours max. More than that overheats the container.
The Non-Negotiables: Never leave unattended. Seriously. Keep from kids, pets, drafts, anything flammable. Heat-resistant, level surface only. Stop burning glass candles at about ½" of wax remaining.
Clean Exit: Dip the wick into the wax pool, straighten it back up. No smoke, easy relight next time.
Frequently Asked Questions
How is the candle scent different from the Autumn Magic soap? While the soap is all cozy comfort and familiar pumpkin spice, the candle is more complex and sophisticated. We added bright top notes of lemon and apple that cut through the sweetness, kept the beloved spice middle of cinnamon, anise, and ginger, then grounded it with vanilla, mahogany woods, and musk. Think of it as the soap's older sibling who went to college. Same family, different personality. The soap is morning comfort, the candle is evening ambiance.
What's the actual burn time and how do I maximize it? 35+ hours if you treat it right. First burn is crucial - let it melt completely to the edges (about 2 hours) to set the wax memory and prevent tunneling. After that, burn for 2-4 hours at a time for best results. Trim the wick to 1/4 inch before each use. Keep it away from drafts. The tin lid helps preserve the scent between burns. Some customers report getting 40+ hours with proper care. When it's done, clean the tin with hot water and soap - it makes a perfect container for small things.
Why are you transitioning from soy to a soy-coconut blend? Pure soy is wonderful - clean burning, renewable, non-toxic. But coconut wax makes everything better. It helps the scent travel further (better "throw" in candle speak), creates a more even burn, and actually makes the candle last longer. We're transitioning gradually to perfect the blend. You still get all the benefits of soy with the performance boost of coconut. No petroleum, no paraffin, just plant-based wax that burns clean and smells incredible.
