Every product is handmade in small batches by real people (hi, that's us!). Orders usually ship in 3 to 5 days, then the Post Office takes it from there. Think of it as farm-to-skin, not Prime-to-porch.

No propellant. No benzene. Just powder that works.

In 2022, the FDA oversaw recalls of aerosol dry shampoos from some of the biggest names in hair care. The problem wasn't the shampoo itself. It was the propellant inside the can; the pressurized gas that turns liquid into spray. Independent lab testing found benzene, a known carcinogen, contaminating the aerosol at levels far exceeding safety thresholds. The brands pulled products. Lawsuits followed. And a lot of people started reading labels more carefully.

Our Dry Shampoo never had that problem. There's no aerosol can. No chemical propellant. The pump spray uses nothing but air to deliver a fine powder mist directly to your roots. You spray, massage it in, and it absorbs oil on contact. The active ingredients do the work that aerosol spray only pretended to do, without the chemistry experiment happening between your fingers and your scalp.

Six ingredients handle the oil absorption: organic rice starch, tapioca starch, corn starch, and colloidal oatmeal soak up excess sebum. Bentonite and kaolin clay pull impurities from the scalp while adding lift at the root. Then rose geranium, rosemary, and lemongrass essential oils leave your hair smelling like something you'd actually want to smell like. Herbal and bright, not medicinal.

"I formulated this before the recalls happened, honestly. It wasn't a reaction to bad press. I just never understood why you'd need butane in a can to put starch on your head. The powder works better. It sits where you put it, absorbs what it touches, and the clays do things aerosol ingredients never could. Sometimes the simpler version is the smarter one."

Why You'll Love the Dry Shampoo

  • Instant Oil Control: Four different starches working together means oil gets absorbed the moment powder meets root. No waiting, no white cast if you work it in.
  • Dual-Clay Detox: Bentonite and kaolin clay pull buildup from your scalp, not just mask it. You're actually getting cleaner between washes, not just looking cleaner.
  • Volume Without Product Buildup: The powder lifts at the root and adds texture without leaving residue. Day-two hair that looks intentional.
  • Air-Powered Pump Spray: Same spray convenience as an aerosol, powered by nothing but air. No butane, no propane, no benzene contamination pathway. The format itself is the safety feature.
  • Scent That Earns Compliments: Rose geranium, rosemary, and lemongrass essential oils. People will ask what you're wearing. Tell them it's shampoo you didn't use today.

Key Ingredients

Organic Rice Starch & Corn Starch
The primary oil absorbers. Rice starch is superfine, almost silky, and soaks up sebum without clumping. Corn starch adds body and helps the powder distribute evenly through hair.
Colloidal Oatmeal
Soothes the scalp while absorbing oil. If your head gets itchy between washes, the oatmeal is working on that too.
Bentonite Clay & Kaolin Clay
Bentonite is volcanic clay that pulls toxins and buildup from the scalp. Kaolin is gentler, handles excess oil without over-drying. Together they're doing real detox work, not just cosmetic coverage.
Rose Geranium, Rosemary & Lemongrass Essential Oils
Rosemary has been used for scalp health for centuries; it stimulates circulation at the follicle. Geranium balances oil production. Lemongrass cuts through any staleness. All three are phthalate-free.

Section your hair at the roots where oil collects. Hold the pump spray a few inches from your scalp and give it 2-3 sprays per section. A little goes further than you'd think; start light. Massage into your roots with your fingertips, then brush or comb through to distribute. The powder blends invisible on all hair colors. If you went slightly heavy-handed, just brush a bit more. Store upright in a cool, dry spot between uses.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: Will this leave white residue in my hair?

A: If you go overboard, sure. But 2-3 pumps per section and 30 seconds of massaging blends the powder invisible on all hair colors, including dark hair. The trick is starting with less than you think you need. You can always add more.

Q: How is this different from aerosol dry shampoo?

A: The spray mechanism is the big one. Aerosol dry shampoos use pressurized chemical propellants (butane, propane) to blast product from a can. Multiple major brands were recalled by the FDA after independent testing found benzene contamination from those propellants. Our pump spray is powered by air. Same spray convenience, no pressurized chemicals involved. And the oil absorption comes from the ingredients themselves (starches and clays), not from whatever was in the can.

Q: How many days can I stretch between washes with this?

A: Most people get an extra 1-2 days comfortably, sometimes 3 if your hair isn't particularly oily. Spray at the roots when you notice oil starting to show, massage in, and you're reset. It's also great for adding volume on freshly washed hair that's lying flat. One bottle lasts several months with regular use.
