Loyal Customer Notice: This is the EXACT same recipe as our Oatmeal Stout Beer Soap. Nothing has changed except the name. Same beer, same hops, same butterscotch-citrus scent you love. We simply renamed it to better describe what it actually smells like. Don't worry - your favorite soap hasn't changed one bit!

The butterscotch-citrus soap that happens to be made with real craft beer

First, let's address the name change. This was our Oatmeal Stout Beer Soap. Same recipe, new name that actually describes what it smells like. Customers would hesitate to smell it, imagining stale bar floors. Then they'd sniff and say "butterscotch!" or "caramel citrus!" So we renamed it. Butterscotch Brew - because alliteration works and accuracy matters. The scent? Warm butterscotch up front, bright citrus notes dancing through, malty sweetness underneath. Ana's husband finally found a soap that doesn't smell "too floral." Dale calls it "the ultimate soap for us guys!" But here's what matters: the beer isn't a gimmick.

We use real Oregon Oatmeal Stout because beer's amino acids soften skin and create incredible lather. Oregon hops because they're literally used in high-end skincare for anti-inflammatory properties. Real cocoa for antioxidants and that rich, dark color. The beer and hops work together creating what Dale calls "unbelievable" - a creamy, moisturizing lather that happens to smell like butterscotch heaven. This is craft meeting craft. Local beer, local soap, completely unexpected result. No wonder Ana says it's become her husband's approved soap.

"We renamed this because people would hesitate to even smell it, thinking 'beer soap' meant old bar smell. But sniff it - butterscotch, bright citrus, warm malt. The beer and hops aren't gimmicks. Beer's amino acids create that creamy lather Dale loves. Hops are literally used in skincare for anti-inflammatory properties. Oregon Oatmeal Stout plus Oregon hops plus cocoa equals this butterscotch-citrus magic. Ana's husband finally found a soap that doesn't smell 'too floral.' We just gave it a name that matches what it actually smells like."

Why You'll Love The Butterscotch Brew

  • Butterscotch and citrus scent that surprises everyone expecting "beer smell"
  • Real Oregon stout provides amino acids for skin-softening and creamy lather
  • Oregon hops deliver actual anti-inflammatory benefits (not just novelty)
  • Rich cocoa adds antioxidants and creates the beautiful dark color
  • Finally, a non-floral option that Ana's husband and Dale enthusiastically approve

This Is Why We Do It

"I love all the Emz Blends soaps, but sometimes my husband finds them to be too floral for his liking. The Oatmeal Stout Beer Soap smells great to me and meets his approval as a less feminine smelling soap and of course it's moisturizing as well."
β€” Ana S.

The Ritual

Lather up and let the butterscotch hit first - warm, sweet, comforting. Then notice the citrus brightness cutting through. The malty base note grounds everything. This is what beer in soap actually does: creates incredibly creamy, rich lather thanks to amino acids. The hops calm inflammation. The cocoa protects with antioxidants. Dale says it "smells and feels so great." The oats add gentle exfoliation. It's comfort in a bar - butterscotch sweetness, citrus brightness, craft beer benefits. Perfect for anyone who wants sophisticated scent without florals.

Key Ingredients

Oregon Oatmeal Stout
Real craft beer. Amino acids soften skin and create the creamy lather Dale raves about.
Oregon Hops
Not just for flavor - hops have legitimate anti-inflammatory properties used in skincare.
Organic Cocoa
Antioxidant-rich chocolate creates the dark color and adds to the butterscotch depth.
Organic Oats
Gentle exfoliation and soothing properties, plus contribution to the malty sweetness.

Complete Your Ritual

Layer your comfort routine with other warm, non-floral options. This pairs perfectly with woodsy or spicy soaps for those avoiding flowers. The butterscotch-citrus profile makes it surprisingly versatile - morning wake-up or evening wind-down. Dale bought multiple bars because "this is the ultimate soap for us guys!" Ana stocks it specifically for her husband. Once people get past the beer ingredient surprise and experience the actual butterscotch-citrus scent with that incredible beer-created lather, they're converted. Craft beer culture meets craft soap culture. Both are about quality, local ingredients, and unexpected combinations that just work.

Ready for butterscotch bliss with craft beer benefits? Your brew awaits.

INGREDIENTS

saponified oils of: olive, coconut, palm(sustainably sourced), shea butter, beer, oregon hops, organic oats, phthalate-free fragrance, organic chocolate.

Why did you change the name from Oatmeal Stout Beer Soap to Butterscotch Brew?Β Simple: the old name scared people off. Customers would literally hesitate to smell it, imagining stale beer and bar floors. Then they'd finally sniff it and exclaim "butterscotch!" or "this smells like caramel and citrus!" We got tired of the surprise factor working against us. The recipe hasn't changed one bit - still real Oregon Oatmeal Stout, real hops, real cocoa. But Butterscotch Brew actually describes what it smells like: warm butterscotch, bright citrus, malty sweetness. Plus the alliteration works. Same amazing soap Dale calls "the ultimate," just a name that doesn't require explanation.

Does beer in soap actually do anything for skin or is it just a gimmick?Β Beer is legitimately great for skin. The amino acids in beer soften skin and create incredibly creamy lather - that's science, not marketing. Hops contain anti-inflammatory compounds (lupulin and humulone) that are actually used in high-end skincare products. The B vitamins in beer help with moisture retention. The proteins strengthen skin barrier function. Dale noticed immediately how great it "smells and feels." Ana specifically mentions it's moisturizing. We use real Oregon craft beer because local ingredients matter and because beer genuinely improves the soap. The butterscotch scent is a happy accident. The skin benefits are why we keep making it.

What does this actually smell like and who typically likes it?Β Butterscotch forward - that warm, caramel-toffee sweetness hits first. Then bright citrus notes cut through. Underneath there's a malty, slightly sweet base from the beer and oats. Zero beer smell, zero bar floor vibes. Just sophisticated warmth. Ana's husband loves it because it's not floral - finally a soap he approves of. Dale bought multiples calling it "the ultimate soap for us guys." But plenty of women love it too - Ana herself says it smells great. It's for anyone who wants something warm and comforting without flowers, something unique without being weird, something that smells like dessert but works like serious skincare.
